I have a PhD in chemistry (Tufts University, Medford, MA, USA) and an MBA in sustainable innovation (Norwegian School of Economics, Bergen, Norway). I currently work as the research director for the marine biotechnology group and Biotep, a small industrial scale processing plant. I work towards valorization of underutilized biomass and in the interface between fundamental research and commercialization. I am also the chair or the board for a funding agency and I am/have been a member of several boards. I have previously worked in academic and start-up settings investigating bio-activity and drug delivery of various compounds. From Sept 1st 2021 I will work as the sustainability director for Aker Biomarine, a company supplying health products from krill.
