João Rito is a biologist, researcher and collaborates with the Polytechnic of Leiria, being a guest professor in courses, such as, Bachelor degree in Marine Biology and Biotechnology or Master in Aquaculture. He has collaborated with the European Aquaculture Society (EAS) having been President of the EAS Student Group. João Rito is an Executive Board Member of Bluebio Alliance, since May 2021. João Rito defends the blue economy and specifically aquaculture as an instrument to solve part of the socio-economic and environmental problems of the world, if it is well managed and implemented, and as such, he became an entrepreneur being one of the founders and manager of the company SEAentia.
